Trails Update: May 24, 2024
Short week
Who doesn't like a long weekend? The inclement weather and unexpected snow sure made us wish for this week to be even shorter! Slush clumps falling from the trees on a sunny day can really befuddle your mood… Nonetheless, the crew worked on widening Flashback 3 to “Blue Adaptive-mtb” standard width. This also presented an opportunity to revisit some turn and jump shapes. We’ll need to bring out the hammer drill in the coming weeks to reshape some pesky bedrock.
Trail night progress
Our community efforts have been pushing the Flashback missing link closer and closer to connection! This week, Comor brought the season high number of staff (and swag!) to join in on the fun. I let Carlos lead (his staff) by example since his digging experience runs deep on some Whistler mountain classics… Some sweat poured, tools were broken as this week’s volunteers put some finishing touches on the steep slope we’ve been benching for the past 3 weeks. The big “Ess” berms are taking shape and it’ll really come together once the bridges get built. Oh, yeah, the bridges… The pro crew need to get started on those sooner than later if we want to keep up with the volunteers' digging progress! Join us next week by signing up here!
See you on the trails!
