Trail Maintenance in Whistler Valley
This week in trail maintenance we spent three days working on the RMOW managed trail Basalt Valley Spur to redevelop the loose climb (photo above) into something that's more appealing for bikes and hikers alike. We re-aligned a large section of the trail to the climbers left onto the rockfall then into the edge of the older growth to avoid the water and alder problems that are present on the old road bed. To finish up the week we are going to spend a little time doing corridor clearing for a couple projects we are going to get into shortly in case the forest fire danger goes up in the coming weeks.
