Trails Update: May 21-25, 2018

[heading]Trails Update: May 21-25, 2018[/heading]

We fired up the brushsaw this week to give "Cut Yer' Bars" a trim. We also patched up the wooden features on the segment that takes you back to the school. We opted for a simple (decking only) repair since this piece of trail will become a segment of valley trail in the next few years. We patched up, armoured and capped eroded sections of 99'er and the "Lower Sproatt" singletrack descent. Capping with dirt makes it all look so smooth and easy... give it a few weeks, the texture of the rocks underneath will re-enhance the technical flavor. While up on Lower Sproatt, we prepared a line to take a further chunk of the "road riding" out. The dessert platter will soon get a helping of "green Jello"! You can help on this new section at the Tuesday dig night on June 12.If you can't wait that long to get digging, join us this week (May 29 at 5:30pm) at the Junction of "Hot Dog Alley" and the "Scotia creek climb". Giant Whistler-Bike Co. will be providing refreshments! Thanks to Garbanzo Bike and Bean for the beer (and work) on Microclimate last week!Dan Raymond, WORCA Trail Builder
