“Lower Sproatt” improvements
Since BC Hydro re-opened their Lower Sproatt road, we’ve been chipping away at re-routes to improve the experience on this valuable low elevation trail. We ran another Tuesday Dig Night at the descent end of the trail last week: Zep Techniques came out ready for business! Not only did their full crew of coaches swing tools on a cool evening, they also warmed us up with hot chili and donuts! I’m excited with our progress on the section connecting “Cherry on Top” to “Green Jello”! Just 2 more buckets of dirt should do it..., ok, maybe 50 more (or 1 more Dig Night).
Tuesday Sept 18: more “Yummy Numby”
Garbanzo Bike and Bean are sponsoring another Tuesday Dig Night! Phase 2 of the “Yummy Numby: singletrack is better than roads” project is nearly complete. As the days get shorter, fall trail nights are more sprint than marathon... will we get a ribbon cutting this week? Come out and see for yourself! Meet at the start of “Yummy Numby” at 5:30 (please park on Painted Cliff Road, if you’re driving in).
Shout out!
Huge thanks to Jolan for volunteering 2 full days with me this week! He learned about how we build bridges and play rock Tetris. If you want to help (or get fit), reach out to me to see where the crew is digging: trailwork@worca.comSee you on the trails!
