WORCA Benefit Night a HUGE success!
A total of $2,768.25 raised to support WORCA initiatives
On Tuesday, April 7 we held our benefit night to help raise funds to support youth programming and trail building and maintenance initiatives planned for 2015. Thanks to our members, sponsors, the Whistler community and visitors to town, the event was extremely well attended with not an empty seat all night. WORCA’s board of directors were all on hand to thank all those in attendance and to help sell tickets for our annual raffle. The atmosphere was electric and a buzz with excitement about the riding season already well upon us. It was a fabulous evening spent eating tasty food, downing cold and refreshing beverages and chatting bikes. On display we had the 1st place raffle prize, a Norco Sight Carbon mountain bike donated by Comor. It received loads of attention all night and enticed many to purchase their annual raffle ticket(s) in hopes of calling the bike their own. A special thank you and shout out goes to Emma Bishop and Martine Lafontaine for collecting donations for the cause and selling raffle tickets all night. These ladies made everyone feel extremely welcome, greeting guest at the door all evening long. And let’s not forget about our very own board of director Mandy Rousseau who planned and executed the successful benefit night.
