WORCA member survey results

Newsletter-InfographicThank you to all of our members who took the time to participate in the 2014 WORCA Member Survey. Your input helps us identify key areas to focus our efforts and gives us an idea of your satisfaction with our member driven organization. We’re happy to report that the majority of you are pleased with our efforts and appreciate the valuable input on areas we could improve. We’ve tabulated, analysed and discussed the input received and have identified the following three areas to concentrate our efforts for the season ahead.

Whistler Trails

It’s no surprise to see that our network of trails is top priority among our members. The survey identified that you would like us to balance our efforts between building new trails and maintaining our existing network. Our Trail’s Director is focused on doing just that in the year ahead, but he cannot do it alone. This year, more than ever, will be looking to you to help with our efforts. Trail Days will be communicated frequently and members will be encouraged to take part. All while we direct further resources, budget and time, to our trails; including the hiring of a trail crew.

Toonie Races

The Toonie races were identified as our “bread-and-butter” of the WORCA events, where almost ¾ members attended at least one Toonie. A key finding of participation was that member perception of both their ability and the race/ride difficulty will impact their involvement. This result confirmed that a large part of our membership values these events. It will also help our event organizers better plan future events; organizing courses suited to all skill levels, better communicating the race difficulty beforehand, and providing further opportunities for skill building and confidence building to our members.

Monday Night Rides

With great joy the questionnaire displays a very strong support towards the Monday night rides and provides Larry, the guides, and our sponsors the pat on the back they deserve. As suspected we do have some areas for improvement such as group sizes and ride options. We also had great response to roll out some new areas of skill development, training and provide information sessions. This support and feedback will help us to continue evolving the Monday night ride program and support the members with their own riding objectives.
