The Youth Enduro Development team is as a high-performance program for young riders living in Whistler that are aspiring Enduro athletes.
What is the WORCA Enduro Development Team?
A team of aspiring enduro athletes (2-3 groups, max 6 per group).
Fully coached and supported in a season-long program.
Focused on commitment, dedication and progression, rather than results.
Who can apply?
Whistler residents aged 13-16.
Comfortable riding black diamond and double black diamond trails in the Whistler Valley and have a level of fitness and mindset that supports long days of trail riding (up to 30-35km) by early summer.
What are the commitments to the team?
COVID dependent, race a minimum of two (2) enduro races in the 2022 season.
Participate in at least 8 WORCA Chiller/Thriller Toonie events.
Currently own or plan to own a high-performance Enduro bike.
Positive attitude, love for the sport, well-spoken and personable.
Who is supporting the team?
ZEP Racing provides all coaching.
WORCA with Chromag, provide one (1) team kit for each team member.
Knolly Bikes offers Grassroots team pricing for bikes and accessories.
Transition Bikes offers Grassroots team pricing for bikes and accessories.
Chromag provides pro-deal pricing on all components and clothing.
Evolution Cycles provides team discounts and service support.
Coastal Culture provides team discounts and service support.
What is the fee?
WORCA and ZEP offer this program at a fee that covers our costs of delivery and insurance.
The 4 month program price is $2,495 + tax.
You will need a WORCA Youth Membership and Whistler Bike Park pass.
What is the process and timing?
Athletes living in Whistler, aged 13-16, are required to submit a thoughtful, well-produced cover letter and resume no later than Friday April 1, 2022, at 4:00 pm (this is a hard cut-off date to meet timelines and ensure fairness).
Your cover letter should speak to you as a person and an athlete. It should include your aspirations, what you would bring to the Team environment, as well as other key points you wish to make – this should be no more than one page.
Your resume should outline your riding experience and race participation to date, and other relevant work, life, sport history.
WORCA and ZEP will select team members and notify no later than April 8, 2022
Once notified, fees must be paid to ZEP. An invoice with payment methods will be sent to selected athlete guardians. Instalment payment options are available.
