Trail Nights

For 2025, WORCA Volunteer Trail Nights will take place on Tuesday evenings during the early season. As the season progresses, Trail Nights will shift to Sunday mornings due to higher fire risk and shorter daylight hours in late fall.

WORCA devotes significant energy and resources to our comprehensive and successful trail maintenance program. The Whistler area is home to an extensive and world-renowned network of mountain bike trails, ranging from smooth double track gravel to very challenging and technical single track. The trails are a great resource for the local community and the tourism industry. Without ongoing maintenance, repairs and protection we risk losing this incredible amenity to erosion, degradation and in some cases competing land use.

Each year we set priorities and assign funding to a range of trail projects, which are carried out by a combination of paid trail crew employees and tireless, enthusiastic community volunteers. Our trail budget is allocated to employee wages, tools and equipment, trail signage, as well as sustenance and a few perks for our volunteers.

Maintaining sustainable trails is the key focus of our program.

Grab some old friends or come meet some new ones. Volunteer with us and get digging!

Trail nights are usually 3-4 hours in duration. Details on upcoming events will be listed in our member newsletters, in the schedule below, and on the events page of our website. Volunteers are asked to bring loppers, hand saws, drain digging tools (eg. pulaski or mattock) if they have them and water. Tools or trail maintenance experience are not required, we have plenty for everyone and will provide direction. Refreshments are provided by the trail night sponsor. Volunteers are rewarded with a Whistler Mountain Bike Park ticket for every 3 trail nights completed thanks to Whistler Blackcomb and the Vail Resorts EpicPromise Program! Please bring work gloves and clippers if you have them. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is limited to 30 volunteers each evening to ensure efficiency of trail building work.
