June 14 Trail Report - Next Alpine Dream Day is June 21

June 14th Trail ReportLast week was a milestone for WORCA with  two different volunteer days breaking ground on our first ever authorized and sanctioned trails WORCA can build. ‘A Cut Above’ started by Tuesday nights' volunteer team (thank you Arbutus Routes for sponsoring!) is our first sanctioned trail WORCA applied to construct.  Last Saturday the first volunteer day on the Alpine Sproatt Project took place with 23 volunteer building  approximately 160 meters of trail. Great work and a big thanks to those who came out.It is amazing that 25 years have passed, during which time WORCA has been actively involved in trail stewardship and maintenance, finally the process of legitimizing the valuable whistler trail network has begun. Please the website's Trail Days schedule, see which one works for you and bring a friend. The volunteer work plays a hugely role in WORCA’s trail management plan and allows for the mountain biker user group to have a stake in trail development within the Whistler Valley. This week a big thank you goes out to Bear Back Biking for sponsoring the June 7th Alpine day with sandwiches, snacks and welcome beverages for the hard working crew.  The next Alpine Dream Trail Day is on Saturday, June 21st and is sponsored by Trek Dirt Series.  Meet at 9am at the Nita Lake Drive and Westside Road intersection and we'll walk in together.
