Alpine Sproatt Trail
This week we started leap-frogging ahead and tackling more complex sections in preparation for the upcoming Volunteer Weekend. We're leaving behind some benching and rock work sections to share the fun on the July 23-24. This week we moved VERY BIG rocks and stumps from the ride line, built 3 bridges and benched/armoured/filled 2 water draws and made enough decking to get us "bridged" through to the next viewpoint. We'd like to thank the anonymous donor that left us some fine caffeine last weekend. Please remember to secure your donation in the elevated blue barrel. We appreciate the gifts of coffee/cookies/beer... However, so do the cougars, bears, ravens, whiskey jacks, martens, raccoons, giraffes and mice!Give Dan a call/text if you are interested in helping out at any time![huge_it_gallery id="7"]
Trail Maintenance in Whistler Valley
This week in the valley we spent the start of the week in 99er doing some general maintenance to improve the flow of the existing line while maintaining the trails character. We then headed over to Upper Beaver Pass to give the entire trail a cut back along with some maintenance. We improved the run-out of the big rock ride under the power lines and then replaced the last bridge on the trail with a bridge that is readable by all while rebuilding the skinny so that the flavour of the feature is not changed drastically. A big thanks goes out to the Munny and the WORCA youth campers that stopped by on the trail during their ride to help us out with carrying rock, dirt and bridge building materials.Upper Beaver Left, 99er right
