2020 WORCA AGM

Notice of WORCA Annual General Meeting

Location: Online using Zoom

This year’s AGM will be online using Zoom. All attendees must be WORCA members. If you would like to attend, please email trevor@worca.com by September 24th and you will be sent the meeting links on September 25th.

There will be a special resolution to approve new bylaws proposed by the WORCA Board.

The key changes to the bylaws are as follows:

  • Including the requirement to have one director who is a Whistler Council member - see Part 6.2 (3). This will be an at-large voting position and this director will not be elected but will be appointed by the Whistler Council. Having a Council member on the WORCA Board will provide greater visibility for the valuable work carried out by WORCA and we also hope that it will help with negotiating Fee For Service funding agreements.

  • Removal of membership types (adult, child, youth, honorary, etc.) from Part 2 of the bylaws. Membership types will become a board policy rather than a bylaw item and this will provide the WORCA Board with additional flexibility to review and amend membership types as required. The Board’s intention is to add a new membership type for Trail Runners to encourage more of these trail users to become WORCA members and to track their numbers.

We only received one new director nomination from Mitch Collins for the position of Race Director. All existing directors will be seeking re-election except for the Fundraising Director, Race Director and Director of Stakeholder Engagement.
