Trails Update: Sept 11, 2020

And, we’re back!

Well rested (maybe a little tired actually) from tons of vacation riding, the trail crew is back in action (Renee too!). Summer is finally here so we’re shifting gears from building bridges to dry stacking rocks.

It’s dusty out there!

We’re undertaking a renovation on Legalize it. This one has developed a lot of character… character developing holes to be more specific. Our plan is to reign it in… back into the “single black” technical rating range.

This weather has dried up the mosquitoes but deer flies are still thriving (pestering).

What did you do during your vacation?

Benoit: I went riding in the Chilcotins and Kootenays.

Renee: I went to the dentist and for long runs and rides in Whistler.

Dan: I staycationed like a tourist. Going to check out nearby attractions that I’ve ignored/avoided since moving here.

BZZZZZZZZ”

Dan: Uh oh: Hornet!

These guys look terrifying but don’t usually sting unless you get close to their nest… so I try to remain calm.

The hornet is all over me, landing shortly and bouncing back into the air. The cloud of deer flies is just as restless.

Then it strikes!

The hornet leaps off of my leg to grab an unsuspecting deer fly, stings it and glides away with its snack!

Thanks, friend!

It’s nice to be back in the office!

See you on the trails!
